Fam. Zinnecker Hallo,
Steve Hello,
I have a question about the Jumbo Jet. Is it true that the Space Mountain in Disney World is actually a Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet?
Take care and keep the site going, its wicked :)

That is definately NOT true!!! The rollercoaster inside Disney World's "Space Mountain" was designed / built by the Disney company and several sub companies.
This question maybe came up because there is in fact an indoor coaster called "Space Mountain", which houses a "Jumbo Jet". But this coaster is located at Divertido, Mexico City, Mexico.

Hello Michael,
I would first like to thank you for an amzing website. I have recently dicovered my love of Anton Schwazkopfs work due to finding out his role in steel roller coasters.
One of his rides (my all time favorite) was the Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City Missouri U.S.A. I was very sad when i found out about the parks plans for its removal. Best of luck with all you do.
Richard Duval I love your site. Lots of great information and photos! Keep up the good work. I just have two quick questions: First, on your Timeline, you list a "Flume Ride" from 1983 (1 Park Model and 2 Traveling Units.) Can you tell me what park it is in or was in and what traveling shows had the other two units?

As far as I know, the permanent installation of the Schwarzkopf flume was delivered to Eulenspiegel Park (bankrupt since 1985) and then sold on to Heide Park in Germany where it operated until 2011. It's very last ride was on october 29th, 2011. As far as I know, their parts (except some of boats) went to a scrapyard.

Those two portable units are made of the same layout, but in mirror-image. Both were operated by the german showmen companies Eckl and Kaiser that time. Later on, one unit was sold to another german showman, Mister Vorlop. Nowadays they might be at parks outside Germany.

Also, I've heard that Schwarzkopf had envisioned a coaster with a "Figure-Eight" Loop that was never built. Do you have any information on that? (I looked under your "Unrealized Projects" pages and couldn't find anything about it. Maybe I missed something.) Thank you, and have a great day!

The story of the figure-8-loop coaster is a bit strange. It was not designed by Schwarzkopf. This mistake appears often in books or on websites. This causes maybe in the fact, that the model looked really like a Schwarzkopf coaster!!! The concept was designed by a german showmen, Mister Pötzsch - he owns the patents for the two figure-8 elements, the standing eight and the laydown eight. It was calculated by Werner Stengel but wasn't built due to the high forces. A model of the ride has been displayed at some trade fairs at the Zierer booth. Zierer has no own track fabrication for tubular rails, so I think that maybe BHS was planned to produce it. But Anton Schwarzkopf worked some time for BHS as a consultant...  One fact that I often think about...

Jason Bond Hi
Ive been looking through the site and think you have done a really good job! And thank you for taking time to do an english version else I wouldn't have been able to read all that interesting stuff on Schwarzkopf coasters!

Thank you
Michael Jantowski Hallo Michael,
Mach weiter so.
Bis bald,
Michael Jantowski
Leo Löffler Hallo,
Ihre Seite ist sehr gut.
Gruß,

João Victor Hi!
I'm from Brazil, and I love Schwarzkopf coasters! My favorite is the "Shuttle Loop" - the one at Hopi Hari... it had a lotof problems, but they have opened the coaster again...
Christian Ewald WOW!
THANX
Jan Olejnik Hello there.
I was wondering, do all "wildcat" style Schwarzkopf coasters have the same track layout? I have been on a few and they all seem to.

Yes, they have. No matter which version and when it was built.

Tommy H. Hallo Michael,
Jens Krausse Hallo Michael,
Justin Worsley Hello!
I'd like to say that your Schwarzkopf Coaster Net is great!
Michael Hicks  Great Site! Loved every bit of it! Keep up the wonderful work!
Colin Blanchard Hi Michael!
I discovered your site through the UK Theme Parks Discussion Board and I must say that I am VERY impressed! I go to Alton Towers quite a lot, but I don't think the place is the same without Thunderlooper!
Also, where did you get the inspiration for the site design? It's great! Simple yet no detail omitted! Right down to the pneumatic "hiss" accompanying the train speeding onto the title bar!
Thanks anyway and keep up the good work! ;-)
P.S. I've already added your site to the B.R.S. links page and hope you don't mind! :-)

My pleasure.
Ingo Hallo Michael !
Eric Hurd Hello,
I really enjoy your Schwarzkopf site. I have a question about your list of coasters. It mentions the "Speed Racer" was created in 1971. However, Great America, did not open until 1976. Was this ride built somewhere else
before coming to Great America? I always thought that it had been custom built for Great America.

Yes, it was custom designed for Great America, but the name "Speedracer" doesn't count only for Great America's "Whizzer". The name "Speedracer" stood for a type of coaster and the first one opened in 1971 as the "Big Bend" at Six Flags over Texas.
Thomas Haferburg Hallo Leute,
tolle Seiten!!!
Viele Grüße,
Thomas
Jan Olejnik I just want to say thanks for the effort to put together such an awesome website. I have learned quite a bit and enjoy very much all the excellent pictures.
Thanks again.
Philipp Remmers  Moin!

Lawrie Vartiainen Hello Michael,
Thanks for the fantastic website. There are many Schwarzkopf rides in Finland. For example there is a Jet Star in Sarkanniemi amusement park. Do you happen to know which version this coaster is? Is it Jet Star 1?
Best Regards,
Lawrie

Correct, that particular coaster is a "Jet Star 1".

Pascal Michael,
Your site is really amazing. I spend the last hour on it and haven't seen everything yet. After visiting your site, I realised that I've been on a lot of Schwarzkopf childeren's. A few year's ago I rode the Revolution at Magic Mountain and was surprised that it was such a 'good' coaster, especially because it was the first looping coaster and it is quiet 'old' now. I hope the park will never remove it.
Hopefully I will see you and Tanja at Walibi. Meanwhile just keep improving your site (although it's already perfect) and have fun.

We will be there...  I can't wait to see the "Turbine" !

Warren Hi!
I rode one of the Schwarzkopf launch coasters and I was wondering how much horsepower was the launch motor. Thanks!!!
John R. Coleman

Midway Dynamics INC.

Dear Michael,
Keep up the great work on your site !!!
Jeffrey C. Peterson Hey Michael,
You've done a great job on your site. Some of the stuff there is awesome. I've bookmarked it so I can return later to fully check it out. The stuff I saw so far I really liked.
Gunnar Hi,

P.S: Mach weiter so !
: -)

Lewis Daniels

Herts, UK

Hi there!
Just like to say well done on the site, it think it is great. I have been in love with Schwarzkopf coasters ever since i first rode the 'Looping Star' at Dreamland, Margate in England when i was only 10 years old!
The above mentioned coaster has since been removed and i would love to find out what has happened to it, whether operational or not.
The Looping Star is temporary in storage at an hall of the Bemboom Brothers (this is the owner).
It would also be great to be able to have a list of all his coasters that are currently in the UK.
I haven´t such a list, but maybe you can contact the coaster clubs in the UK ?!
Thanks again for the great web-site.
Lewis
Miro Gronau In der aktuellen First Drop Ausgabe ist ja Schwarzkopf ohne Ende. Du wirst ebenfalls als Info-Quelle genannt. Prima!

Brad Sherman Hi! I am Brad Sherman of Indiana,USA. I grew up riding the Tidal Wave (1978 shuttle) at Great America near Chicago, Illinois. Although it now resides in Georgia under a different name, it remains a fond memory to me.
I have lately had the opportunity to construct opreating models of some coasters. I knew from the start that I wanted to do a shuttle, so I have been looking for sites on Schwarzkopf and his coasters. I was referred to
your site, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for taking the time to put up the site. The information contained is much more than I ever thought I would find. Furthermore, it is a great feeling to know that others
are concerned with preserving the memory of these great works of art (they are more than just rides to me!).
Thank you very much, and take care.
Doug Moon Thanks for the great site on Schwarzkopf rides. I worked at Six Flags Great Adventure for four seasons (Ride Operations) and became a fan of Schwarzkopf products. Love the historical stuff on the rides. Grab everything you can historically and put it up the 'net. People love this stuff!
Thanks again.
Doug Moon

Versprochen!!!
Reverend Tommy This is my very favorite website, and the only site that I make sure to read every word on every page. Ok, I admit that I just 'pretend' to read the German text.
:-)
Andy Wilkins What a superb site, thank you.
I run a site dedicated to Alton Towers in the UK. With out doubt the best ride they have ever had was the Thunder Looper and it was superb to see the photographs on your site. I see in the copyright info that you don't mind people using the photographs on their sites, so I just want to let you know that I have posted some of them (with the links etc) on my site.
Thanks
Robert Reagan

former Six Flags over Texas Ride Foreman
Ride Operations 1979-1983
I want to correct a statement about the Six Flags over Texas Big Bend:
The ride was dismantled at the end of November, 1979. I rode it a number of times on its last day. The ride parts were then shipped to Six Flags Mid America, and not to Six Flags over Georgia. The ride parts were stored in a field to the Northwest of the current park site, and not in a parking lot. My last sighting of the ride, was in June 1980. We were riding the Screaming Eagle. As the train crossed the top of the lift, we saw the Big Bend parts right in front of us, piled up in the field. The ride remained in that spot, until it was decided that it would be sold for scrap metal. What a shame.

Thanks for the correction, Robert. Unfortunately there are toooo many rumors out there!

Hallo Michael,

Vielen Dank Andreas.

COASTER KINGDOM

Hi Michael,
Firstly, I have just visited your website. It is REALLY good, and I appreciate you taking your time to do an English translation of it. I am sorry that I can't speak German.
I have visited Germany, I have ridden Olympia Looping, but I never got to ride Thriller which was a shame.
Anyway, I am greatly looking forward to Dreier Looping coming over to England in 2000. I will be doing a small feature on it in the future, and if it is OK I will be using one of your photos. I will add a credit to your site as you asked. Have fun,
Regards,
Marcus
Bret Laff ...by the way - took a fast peak - your sites "Rock"...
Eric Hi! I've really enjoyed your site, but I can't find my favorite ride ever: Tidalwave. I use to ride it as a kid at Paramount's Great America in Califorina, USA. Someone told me it was also called Grease Lightning. I thought Schwarzkopf was the designer... Any info?  Thanks!!

The Tidal Wave is a so called "Shuttle Loop" and it was built by Schwarzkopf. You'll find that type of ride in the section
"ROLLERC OASTERS from my own collection". Just click the "Shuttle Loop" weightdrop version! What you'll see then is the same model as Tidal Wave, but it just has another looping construction.

Josh
(Save The Whizzer Foundation)
I am floored by the size of your collection on anton schwarzkopf accomplishments.  I am a huge fan of the Whizzer at Six Flags Great America, and I'm glad that you have this website as a resource for all the schwarzkopf people out there!

I have recently looked at your Schwarzkopf web site which I found most interesting. I was wondering if you could possibly help us at the European Coaster Club with one of our future issues of the First Drop magazine, which is going to have a Schwarzkopf theme to it.

You are welcome!

Tony Marinello Hello Michael,
it's a killer site dedicated to the king of steel !!!!
Ed Roberts
My word, this page is truly outstanding. I want to jump on a plane and fly to japan, right now. People, I highly recommend that you take a moment of your time and look at this page, a tribute to the master himself.
Kate Worsley Dear Michael,
Duane has given me your address to see if you could help with research for a feature I am writing for the UK national Independent on Sunday on Anton Schwarzkopf and his coasters. Unfortunatley I can't access your site from my laptop, but I have been sent some interesting looking printouts. I would like to know more about his career and what makes his coasters so good. Is his son  Wieland really reviving his designs. What do you like so much about his rides. etc etc.
Hope to hear from you soon

You did!

Chris/Smoky

Great page you have, its nice to see someone has put up all this information about Schwarzkopf especially considering they don't have an official website of their own.
Otherwise keep up the good work with your site.
Stephan Siegel Hallo,
Dante Aubert
Hello,
just wanted to say that I really like your site. In the early 80's I used to be the lead ride operator on a Jetstar1 operated by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California. The ride was installed in 1972, and ran until 1995, when it was replaced with another metal coaster of Italian design. I never knew much about the builder of the Jetstar, but was always curious. Thanks to your site I've learned much!
Since I have an attachment to the Jetstar I was wondering if you have any scans of photos beside the ride brochure you have up. I have a couple of pictures up at my web site, but they don't show the whole ride.
Take a look if you'd like: http://w3.the-kgb.com/dante/jetstar.html
Thank you very much!
Sjors Roelofsen Hallo Michael!
Great site about Schwarzkopf. I visited it a long time ago when there was a article about it in the Kirmes Revue.
Greetings,
Sjors
Hans van Kilsdonk Hello,
first thing: GREAT (!!) site! I love the Sirocco photo's and all technical explenation of the coasters!
Keep up the good work!
Greets,
Hans van Kilsdonk
Jens Uwe Kupka Hallo Michael,

Gern geschehen!

Victor Canfield Looking at Jim Westland's photos, the Cannonball Express at Pleasurewood, UK looks very similar in layout and construction to the Jumbo V. Do you know if this is the former Münchner Super 8 Bahn?

Yes, it is. Only one unit has been produced !!!
EC Zenith Wow ! What a great website ! I just added it to my favorites list ! Good job man!
William McCombie I saw your web page, and it is pretty good. I have two questions about it:
1. There is a roller coaster called "Scorpion" at Busch Gardens, Tampa/US. It uses the newer style of track, has a single loop, and only lap bars. I could not find it on your web page.
2. I took over the B&M Coaster Information Center. Maybe we could start up some kind of web ring linking
pages based on roller coaster designers.

1: You find that coaster, which has been built in serie, under it's original name "Silberpfeil / Silverarrow".
2: Maybe in the near future. My spare-time is running out : -)
Dirk Senger Hi,
Mach weiter so.

Mal sehen, was die Zukunft bringt :-)

Carl Anton made most of my favorite coasters so I had to look at every picture you had. I luck out because I live in Texas and we seem to collect his coasters. Six Flags over Texas has the Shock Wave and used to have Big Bend, both were by Anton. Now Astro World has Thriller (Taz Texas Tornado), Looping Star (Viper), and a Shuttle Loop (Greased Lightning). I don't have any pictures. Maybe next time I go I'll get a few.
Keep up the great work!
V. Canfield Great site!
One question: I see no mention on your site of the Flitzer. In fact, I have never seen photos of any on the web.  Do you plan to include any?

I received this question several times and have simple to say no, because all the "Flitzers" have been produced by the firm "Zierer". Anton Schwarzkopf did not do any construction or design for these coasters.
Duane Marden Michael,
I share your appreciation for Anton Schwarzkopf's rides. Your Schwarzkopf page is an excellent source of information. You've created on of the few pages out there with original content. In my opinion, this is what it takes to stand out from a typical page. I run the Roller Coaster Database at www.rcdb.com
If you would like to relocate the site to my server I would love to have it.

We did so, thanks again Duane!

Folks, this is a fun site full of great pictures and stats.
Eberhardt Hallo Michael,

aka J. B.

Hi,
I would like to thank you for creating this site, In my opinion he is the best designer ever. His rides all have the ability to shock the rider, and I am very happy to se him getting the reconigition he deserves. I knew about the West Edmonton "Mindbender" accident in the broad sense but you have given me much more information thank you.
Thanks
J. Ross I don't know who will receive this, but I would like to say that Mr. Shwarzkopf is an idol to me. I love roller coasters, and Shock Wave, at Six Flags Over Texas (USA) is my favorite ride.
Tom Hellstrom I love your site (the Julee Cruise music is a great touch). Thank you. I got a real education about shuttle loop launch mechanisms. It is really fantastic.
Thanks again.

Hi there,
Bravo, bravo, bravo. hip hip hooraay !!!
At last I find a site that finally explains and shows me everything on A. Schwarzkopf. I have been a fan of Schwarzkopf coasters for years. The Looping Star at Bobbejaanland/Belgium was my first inversion ever! I am still very excited on Walibi's Sirocco. To me still one of the best. Because of it's uniquenes. Only checked out the rollercoaster pages. Wasn't awear Schwarzkopf was involved with so many other things. This page is my favourite bookmark at this moment. I'll be back on it to check it out from top to bottom !!!
E.Holtkamp Dear webmaster,
your Schwarzkopf site is vey beautiful.

Hi
I saw a url listed for this site on RRC, and it is a great site. Whatever happened to Mr Schwarzkopf? Of the big players that build the steel coasters(at least the ones who have beed around awhile) his company built and designed some really cutting edge rides in the seventies and the eighties. I'm a member of ACE, and folks in that organization tell me he passed away around ten years ago. Is that true? One thing I know is true that some ACE members think is that there is no such thing as a bad Schwarzkopf coaster. I went to the Six flags park near Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed the Whizzer. Houston just got Thriller, and I know of the Mindbender in Alberta, Canada. The truly great thing about his rides is the crush you feel going through those loops. Wonderful positive G's. The Scorpion in Busch Gardens Tampa comes to mind (silver arrow design) with its great G's on the loop. Also, his rides always have action. It's always doing something, even on turnarounds!
Keep up the wonderful work. I know I'll be back for more looks in the future.
Ralph Latotzki Hallo Michael,

A. M. Hi
I really enjoyed your site and hope to see more like this. The photos are excellent especially of the coasters. I have 2 things for you:
1. There is a site that has pics of JET STAR 98, which is a Jet Star re-themed for now at a traveling fair in France, also has pics of  Jumbo Jet trains being re-themed, but I do not know where it will be at.
2. There is another coaster by Anton you did not include in your site ! He has designed a coaster in Japan called Andalusia Railroad at the KURE PORTOPIALAND park in Kure/Hiroshima Japan. It is similar in look to the BMR in KOBE, but is more spread out and interacts with a log flume ride. I think this model was built by the firm BHS also. The cars have over the shoulder restraints and look like a train but has no inversions. I t is built over a rocky mountain setting and a waterfall  which the first drop goes down near the water in a steep twisting first drop. I hope this helps you !

Yes, you are right - I have to include that one. Anton Schwarzkopf has especially designed the trains and their axle- and wheel assemblies, the lift system and the brakes. The coaster itself was built by "BHS" that time - a company that - in eralier years - supported the Schwarzkopf firm with parts. After the Schwarzkopf form closed down, Anton Schwarzkopf was a special consultant for BHS. Meanwhile BHS's sector amusement-rides has been taken over by the firm "Maurer Söhne". In 1996 a looping coaster opened at "Space World" in Japan: the "Venus". It was built by "Maurer Söhne" and uses he parts that Anton Schwarzkopf designed, too. Please note that the coasters itself (e.g. track layout) were not designed by him.

Michael,
I have just spent the last hour looking through your new web site devoted to Anton Schwarzkopf, I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful job I think you did with it. If your interested, I have photos I took of the Revolution at SFMM, you are welcome to use them as long as you have a copywrite in my name.
Thanks for a great site!

Hello,
I would first like to say I absolutley LOVED your Anton Schwarzkopf webpage, and I look very much forward to the roller coasters and other rides section opening up.
Keep up the excellent work!
V. Canfield This is a great site.
I am eagerlyly awaiting its completion.

I quite enjoyed visiting your site, a wonderful tribute to Schwarzkopf!
My home park is Dorney Park, where the Laser is... a tribute to the classic double loop Schwarzkopf design. What a ride it is! Schwarzkopf sure was an innovator in his field!
You did a wonderful job on your site (though a little hard to follow in two languages, but other than that!) Wonderful, wonderful job! Congratulations!
Simon Mander What a great site,
Schwarzkopf is/was one of my favourite coaster designers, Thunder Looper at Alton towers was one of my best rides, until they removed it. And the Bullet at Flamingo land (Wiener Looping) is the best shuttle loop on the planet !! Do you have any more information on the Bullet ?
Great site well done !

Information on the "Bullet" (Wiener Looping) has been uploaded! Enjoy!
Doug I looked at your web site & I like it seeing all of his rollercoasters & rides that's my favorite but some of it is still under construction. When will I see it plus when will other things on the rollercoaster section plus the rides be finished? I'm a fan of these rides.

I am trying to complete the site as soon as possible !
Paul Drabek Excillent Site!
I'm glad to finally see a site dedicated to the GOD of steel coasters. Excillent technical specifications and info.
Thanks a ton for the excillent site!
